The Story Behind the Photograph
I was originally coming down to photograph the Cape Meares Light House, but when I arrived, I found the road closed due to a hill slide from the rains the previous night. I tried coming in from another direction and this added about an hour to my trip. When I arrived it was too late in the morning for what I wanted to photograph and so I decided to see if there were other places, I could scout for a future morning session. After a short drive, as I came around one corner, I looked out of the ocean, and it looked promising. I parked the car and got my gear out, setup the drone and lifted off.
Because of the hour delay the sun had risen a bit, but to my surprise, it was at a perfect height for this part of the shoreline. It was just getting high enough do get some really wonderful shots of the sun reflecting off the ocean, shadows from the huge rocks and cliffs that blocked it. This photograph was made up of 3 separate photographs take a fraction of a second apart and then stitched together. I hope you enjoy the final result.
